Q: Will you sign my copy of the book?
A: Sure! If you can’t make it to one of my in-person appearances, you can order a signed copy of my book from Astoria Bookshop in Queens, New York.
Q: When is your book coming out in my language?
A: I don’t know, and unfortunately this is outside my control. But I promise that the powers that be are hard at work on securing translation rights for all of my books. I’ll update you whenever foreign rights are sold on my instagram!
Q: When are you coming to my city?
A: Alas, another thing out of my control. My publicity team is in charge of organizing all of my events, but obviously I hope to go to as many places as I can!

Q: Will there be a movie/TV show of A Lesson in Vengeance?
A: Right now, the film/TV rights haven’t sold. If they do, believe me, I’ll update everyone immediately.
Q: Is A Lesson in Vengeance gay?
A: The two main characters are both lesbians.
Q: Is it true there are no men in A Lesson in Vengeance?
A: It’s true! There are no men, nor any he/him pronouns. Even the authors, fashion designers, and composers referenced are all women or nonbinary people.
Q: How long did it take you to write A Lesson in Vengeance?
A: Four months or so. But the first draft was extremely short and bad. I revised this book for around a year before it went out to publishers.

Q: Will there be a movie/TV show of The Fever King?
A: Like with ALIV, I will tell y’all the second I have news here. There is, however a Webtoon!
Q: Are there queer characters in the Feverwake series?
A: Literally every character in The Fever King is queer. All of them. Fight me.
Q: Are there Jewish characters in the Feverwake series?
A: Noam, Dara, and Lehrer from The Fever King are all #ownvoices Jewish.
Q: How long did it take you to write The Fever King?
A: Well, originally the series was four books long and went in a very different direction, and I rewrote the first book over fifteen times. So years. Multiple long, grueling years. Followed by multiple years of revision.

Q: Who is your agent?
A: I have two! They are Holly Root and Taylor Haggerty at Root Literary, and they are awesome.
Q: How many books did you write before you got published?
A: Twenty-two. Yes, you read that correctly. I never tried to get any of them published, really, mostly out of a misguided sense of perfectionism. Also because I used to get really annoyed when people would ask me if I planned to get published, because I just saw novel-writing as a hobby. You wouldn’t ask every kid who likes basketball if they’re going to go pro, would you? …And yet, here I am.
Q: Will you give my name to your agents?
A: No, as a general rule I do not make referrals.
Q: Will you give me feedback on my query/pages/manuscript?
A: Not on request, but I do giveaways sometimes on social media! Check back there from time to time.
Q: Will you blurb my book?
A: Maybe! I can promise to at least consider it, but whether I can blurb your book will ultimately depend on timing and workload. Please have your agent contact my agents or my editor at Random House, Krista Marino, about blurbs.

A: I’d love to! But whether this is actually possible depends on a lot of different factors, most of which are out of my hands. But you’re welcome to contact my publicist at Random House, Lili Feinberg, and put in a kind request.

A: I have so many favorites! A brief list: Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, The Lymond Chronicles by Dorothy Dunnett, Vita Nostra by Marina and Sergey Dyachenko, and all things Dorothy Sayers. In SFF, I love The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson, The Traitor Baru Cormorant by Seth Dickinson, A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine, The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch, The Fifth Season by NK Jemisin, Jade City by Fonda Lee, The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins, and Vicious by VE Schwab. Q: Where did you get your lipstick?
A: I get asked this a lot, and the answer varies! I really like Bite Beauty’s lipsticks, particularly in Sangria, Liquorice, and my custom Bite Lip Lab orange-red color. I also love Charlotte Tilbury in Birkin Brown, Fenty Mattemoiselle in Saw-C, and Glossier lip tint in Jam. But probably my favorite right now is Lipstick Queen’s Velvet Rope collection in the shade A-List.
